Poetic Alert

Rumbling of air and clouds
Beset by crowds, aluminum

Vultures hoping to careen
Upon fleshy idealized minds.

Their birdsong penetrates
Concrete interiors, bouncing

Bundled reverbs, designed
Like AC units dissipating heat.

Chilled, I repeat the motions,
Turning over words for poetics

For reality, suddenly sullen
Flipping burgers at dead ends.

Yet, despite meandering thoughts,
Remember. March’s droughts

Bring April’s rains. Flooded images
Of Abigail broken by batons

Sullied by terror, by horror.
Unlike the Gothics who refused to

Detail in published manuscripts
The violent delights of humans,

But is it not our fault we protest,
Displaced into the kevlar’d arms

With cavernous jaws, their sky blue
Eyes, looking towards greedy gods.

Commanding us to “Desist!”
Salivating for resistance

To "humanely" let go and grasp
The opportunity for retaliation

So they may snuff out, for now,
Worldly eyes into vacant stares,

But no cries can be heard with
Rumbling, rumbling in the sky.

Message from Interim Chief Scott Scheffler

Welcome, and thank you for visiting the UCLA Police Department website. Here at the Police Department, our greatest asset is our weaponized abuse of students and falcultry as well as surveilling and limiting a campus that "prides" itself on free speech for the status quo.  The men and women of the UCLA Police Department proudly serve those in power with money, and have a firm commitment to our Core Values: PROPERTY, MILITARIZATION, MISCONDUCT, BRUTALIZATION and EXCESSIVE FORCE.
